Ms. Catherine “Nikole” Jones, Principal
Welcome to Tuscany Heights Elementary!I’m incredibly proud to serve as the principal of this amazing school. I truly feel blessed to be part of such a special community. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside outstanding students, dedicated staff, and supportive families who make Tuscany Heights an incredible place to learn and grow. Go Tigers!
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Analysis from Texas A&M University in 1995, but while my family was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, I had the opportunity to teach computer classes to adults at a local community college. That’s where I discovered my passion for teaching and realized that education was where I was meant to be.
After returning to San Antonio, I spent six wonderful years teaching 3rd and 4th grade before becoming an Instructional Intervention Teacher, where I had the opportunity to help students strengthen their reading skills. In 2016, I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio and began serving as Assistant Principal at El Dorado Elementary. I later had the privilege of serving at Vineyard Ranch Elementary before joining the Tuscany Heights family.
I believe elementary school should be a place where children love coming to school each day—a place where they feel safe, encouraged, challenged, and celebrated. My goal is to help every student grow not only academically, but also as a leader, a problem solver, a friend, and a caring member of our community. I want our students to leave Tuscany Heights with wonderful memories, confidence in themselves, and the skills they need to be successful wherever life takes them.
When I’m not at school, my greatest joy is my family. My daughter earned her degree in Psychology, and my son, a college graduate, is proudly following his passion in the field of education. Watching them grow into compassionate, successful adults has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. It is truly an honor to serve as your principal, and I look forward to partnering with you to make this another amazing year at Tuscany Heights. Together, we’ll continue building a school where every Tiger is inspired to lead, honor, and excel each day.

Mrs. Heidi Nelson, Assistant Principal
I am honored to serve as Assistant Principal and to be part of such a caring and supportive school community. I truly enjoy working alongside our incredible students, staff, and families each day.
Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I earned both my Bachelor’s Degree in General and Special Education and my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I later returned to BYU to complete a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve students and educators in a variety of roles, including Special Education teacher in public schools and Associate Clinical Professor of Special Education at Brigham Young University.
My family and I are proud to call San Antonio home. I am blessed with three wonderful stepchildren, two sweet grandchildren, and a daughter who is a proud Tuscany Heights Tiger. Being both an administrator and a parent in this community gives me a special appreciation for the partnerships that help our students succeed.
I believe every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. My goal is to help create a positive, inclusive environment where students feel safe, connected, and excited to learn each day. I look forward to partnering with our families and staff to ensure every child has an outstanding elementary school experience.
Thank you for being part of the Tuscany Heights family. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this wonderful community and look forward to supporting our students as they learn, grow, and succeed.
